I have always held the controversial opinion that Bardugo should write Adult or NA rather than YA. Her books can only be fully appreciated, as long as she isn't limited by the genre targeting younger reader. With the proper publicity, she could be the next Stephen King ( even though imo she's way better than King).
Bardugo has a special talent in scaring the shit out of me and finding new ways to horrify me by her books. Ninth House contains all the ingredients for a perfect Bardugo thriller; it's dark, gritty, bold, and honest; not shying away from the ugliness of life.

The character and world building is amazingly done. I really connected with our main heroine, Galaxy 'Alex' Stern, she was a morally gray character (Leigh Bardugo excels at writing such antiheroes and tragic villains).
